About gramstocups.io
gramstocups.io is a free cooking and baking measurement converter built for home cooks and bakers who need accurate, ingredient-specific conversions.
Why We Built This
Have you ever searched for "how many cups is 200 grams?" only to find generic converters that don't account for different ingredients? We have too. That's why we built gramstocups.io.
The truth is, 200 grams of flour is not the same volume as 200 grams of sugar. Flour is fluffy and light, while sugar is dense and heavy. A cup of flour weighs about 125 grams, while a cup of sugar weighs 200 grams. Generic converters that don't account for this will throw off your recipes.
Our Approach
Every conversion on gramstocups.io is ingredient-specific. Our database includes 50+ common baking ingredients, each with accurate density measurements researched from professional baking sources.
We also display measurements in cooking-friendly fractions (like 1¾ cups) rather than decimals, because that's how measuring cups actually work.
Features
- Ingredient-Specific Conversions: Accurate conversions for 50+ ingredients including flours, sugars, fats, dairy, and more

Accuracy
Our ingredient measurements are based on the "spoon and level" method for dry ingredients, which is the standard technique used in American recipes. We use US cup measurements (236.6ml per cup).
For the most precise baking, we always recommend using a kitchen scale. Weight measurements eliminate variability in how ingredients are measured by volume.
